Mallorie and Her Guitar

For her birthday, Mal got a Barbie guitar from Grandma Judy. Now Mallorie and Kolby are both fighting over it. Judy always gets the kids good stuff. It is a pretty cool guitar, though. It has a place for you to plug in your ipod and it plays Maroon 5 and a bunch of other popular songs. Mal Mal's favorite though, is "Girls Just Want To Have Fun." She was so excited when she opened it. Kolby went and got his piano right away so they could jam. I thought these pictures were pretty cute.

Happy Birthday Kolby and Mallorie

The kids had a fun birthday celebration at Leo's Place. They weren't too disappointed about not having friends there. I was a little worried about Mal, since she had said that she didn't even want presents this year, she just wanted her friends to come to her party. But, I think it was enough to have their Grandma and Papa there. Once they got to our house she didn't complain any more. We had pizza, opened presents, and the kids played games. Then we came home for cake. This year Kolby wanted a chocolate cake with cherries on top, and Mallorie wanted a cheesecake with strawberries on top. I thought they'd want the traditional character cake, but I guess my kids go for the taste rather than cartoon stuff - smart kids I tell you. All in all, it was my kind of party. Very low-key and stress-free. We had a great visit with my parents. We only wish the weather could have been better. While they were here, we drove to Rexburg and saw the new temple, went out to eat, went shopping, and watched lots of Lost. They brought all three seasons on DVD, so we watched all of Season One, and half of Season Two. I think I am addicted (thanks mom and dad). Now I'm all caught up and hating having to wait for a new episode each Thursday. I'm also not liking the commercials. That's one nice thing about having the episodes on dvd. Anyway, here are some pictures of the kids birthday.

Kolby and Mallorie - Then and Now

I can't believe that my babies will be turning five in 12 days.   They will be starting kindergarten too.  It doesn't even seem possible.  Seems like just yesterday that we brought them home from the hospital and seemed sooo overwhelmed, and now they are five.  This year, for their birthday we are just planning on having a small family party.  My parents are going to come up from AZ and surprise Kolby and Mallorie.  We can't hardly wait for them to get here.  It has been over a year since they have been to Idaho.  I just hope that the weather will warm up soon so they don't freeze.

Value Tables

New Beginnings Program

Christtina has told me it has been a while since I've posted anything on here, so I guess I've been slacking.  It has been a crazy month with Jeremy's Blue and Gold Banquet for scouts, Valentine's Day, our anniversary, and all of the Young Women activities this month.  We had our annual Young at Heart dinner for Valentine's Day, which was very nice, and then we just had our New Beginnings program to welcome the new girls last Tuesday night.  This year's theme was "Life Is a Canvas, Paint Yours a Masterpiece."  It was so nice.  I work with some truly creative and gifted people, and I just adore all of my friends that I serve with.  It is so much fun being a part of that program, that it doesn't seem like it is work at all.  I also love and adore all of the girls, and want to help them become the masterpieces that I know they are capable of becoming.  Here are some of the pictures from our New Beginnings night.  We set up ladders with paint buckets on each step.  In each bucket was a different colored tissue paper to represent all seven of the YW Values.  Then we set up tables with each value.  My table was good works (yellow), and finally we had fruit tarts for dessert with colored (one for each value) fruit topping.
