Happy Birthday Emmie Ray!

My neice, Emmie just had her birthday on Friday.  I can't believe she is six now.  She lives in North Carolina, so we miss her very much.  For her birthday party they took her and her friends to this place where they do makeovers on the girls and then take their pictures.  It sounded like a lot of fun.  I think we could use a place like that here.  Happy Birthday Emmie!  We love you and hope you had a good time.

Kolby and Trenton - best buds

I recently had my mom and two sisters in town.  It was a lot of fun, but I wish that they could have stayed longer.  Even though it was a really quick trip, I was so glad that they were able to come out.  I got to see my new nephew Dane, as well as his big brother Trenton.  Kolby and Mallorie have really missed Trenton since we moved away.  He was like a big brother to them, and they all played together very nicely.  The kids had fun loving on Dane.  He is such a cutie!   I was really glad to see my sister Taryn as well (even if she did read The Host the whole time she was here).  She came all the way from North Carolina.  She had to leave her four kids at  home, so I was sad that I didn't get to see them.  Hopefully we can go visit them sometime soon too.  We didn't really get to do a whole lot, but it was fun just hanging out with my mom and sisters.  My sister Kodi and I stayed up one night until about 3 AM.  We had such a good time.  We did get to celebrate Trenton's birthday while he was here.  We had our good friend, Eric make us sushi (which Trenton loves) and we had a chocolate fountain for dessert w/all kinds of fruit and yummy things to dip.  It was soooo good.  We really appreciate Eric and his culinary talent.  It was so nice of him.  We did do some shopping while they were here, but not nearly enough in my opinion.

Dreading the Winter

Today is the first day of Fall, and what a joy it was to bundle the kids up for school this morning.  It was so cold!  I am seriously dreading this winter.  I really hope it doesn't snow as much as it did last year.  I guess I'm not ready for summer to be over just yet, because I felt like we didn't have a very long one this year.  Getting snow in June really sucks.  I'm not ready for my garden to die and the leaves to fall off the trees so they can look ugly.  Snow is beautiful, but when it's dirty, mushy snow.... not so beautiful.  So here are some pictures of my garden and some of my harvest.  Gees, I am such a pioneer woman!  Or maybe Amish.  I don't know, but I love it.  I really look forward to gardening every year, and I miss it in the winter, when I can't go outside, because the wind will blow my teeth out of my head and freeze my nose hairs.

My 7th Nephew

Just thought I'd post some pictures of my new nephew, Tucker.  He was born on the 11th, and is such a cutie.  I can't wait to see him.  I'm not sure when that will be, though.  Jeremy says he can't take any time off for the holidays this year.  Of course, he says that every year, but always seems to manage at least one day off at Christmas, or a day before or after Thanksgiving.  The problem is he needs more than just a day off to travel anywhere.  We don't see Jeremy's brother and his family nearly enough.  I wish that we lived closer because I miss them all so much.  I think it would be great to have the cousins grow up together.    It seems like everybody here in Idaho has family all around them, and family reunions every summer.  It always sounds so fun.  It would be nice to have some family too.
